The inaugural event for Creatival Manchester will take place at Manchester Hall on Thursday 5th September 2019.
Creatival is a creative business conference with a difference. All the speakers have been chosen to provide attendees with inspiration, aspiration and tools to help take a business to the next level. Community, collaboration and connection are the three aims for the day, as well as having sustainability and inclusivity at the heart of it all.
Sam Whitear, Creative Scale Up project manager, GC Business Growth Hub, said, “Our fully-funded pilot programme, “Creative Scale Up”, is a UK Government initiative by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport which aims to identify and provide creative businesses in Greater Manchester with a bespoke support package to prepare their business for investment and growth.
“Creatival Manchester gives us an ideal opportunity to spread the word amongst our target audience. We’re proud to be supporting the event.”
Megan Jones, founder of Curated Makers, added, “Our aim is to inspire you, educate you and entertain you, as well as being in a venue that is a feast for your eyes and your Instagram grid...
“We are offering attendees an opportunity to spend the day away from the isolation (and the occasional frustration) of running your own business, to invest in their development and become part of something more. Attendees will walk away from Creatival with new skills, new friends and new ideas.

Co-host and founder of Creatival, Helen Botrill of ‘The Creative Business Network’, is also running another south west event in Devon as well as joining up with Megan to organise the Manchester event. Megan is founder of ‘Curated Makers’ - an innovative platform for small local businesses and high-street retailers to collaborate.
"We’ve got some amazing guest speakers and presenters so that we can cover as much as we can within the day," explains Helen. "There is so much that goes into running your own business that we want to put on an event that will give the delegates the tools to feel confident in their decision making because they have the information they need to move forward."
There will also be a number of creative ‘hubs’ that will be on hand to advise the delegates – Mollie Makes, Folksy, Business Growth Hub & Naked Cards will all have representatives.
And Helen and Megan are also keen to ensure that they can help businesses to thrive in today’s tricky economic climate.
"As small business providers we have a responsibility to the delegates and small businesses, not only to give them business support, but also to be doing it in a sustainable manner," explains Helen.
"There will be no single-use plastic, no disposable cups and all food will be vegetarian. We are using décor that can be re-used at future events. It also goes without saying that there is wheelchair access throughout the venue and we have British Sign Language interpreters should they be required, as well as gender-neutral toilets. We are trying to be as inclusive and sustainable as we can – we know we have a responsibility to show how important this is for all small businesses and event organisers to consider."
The event is being held in Manchester Hall, which has undergone recent refurbishment and is, as Megan puts it – "a feast for the Instagram eyes!"
