Outdoor Provisions has secured a £25,000 loan from GC Business Finance to fund the manufacture and launch of its first range of all-natural energy bars.
The Manchester-based company is firmly rooted in the outdoor pursuits market and prides itself on a vision to give back to the people and organisations within it. With a low impact ethos, every component of their offering is made entirely from compostable materials or is fully recyclable. They have rejected major retailers in favour of a direct to customer approach, as well as partnerships with specialist retailers at the heart of the outdoors scene. Their first range of energy bars, confidently labelled as dependable, portable and tasty, come in flavours inspired by foods from the UK national parks - Cherry Bakewell, Choc Kendal Mint Cake, Bara Brith and Parkin.
The £25,000 loan provided by GC Business Finance has facilitated the early September launch of Outdoor Provisions, allowing the firm to purchase inventory and develop relationships with partner retailers. Outdoor Provisions also plans to branch out its offerings beyond energy bars, providing a complete service to a range of outdoor enthusiasts.
Christian Smith, Founder of Outdoor Provisions said: “As outdoor enthusiasts ourselves, we wanted to build a company that could support the great outdoors, as well as do its bit to protect it.”
“The loan has not only enabled our launch, but also inspired us to think wider. We never wanted to be just an energy bar company - we’re excited to grow the business and expand our range of offerings to the whole outdoor community.”
Alex Mearns, Loan Manager at GC Business Finance said: “Working with Outdoor Provisions has been fantastic. We always look for businesses that have an impact on the community and Outdoor Provisions has proved with its ethos that it has the potential to do just that. With its specialist focus and wider ambitions, Outdoor Provisions can expand further to a position where it can truly offer an all-encompassing service for the outdoor market.”
