New head of employment taxes at Grant Thornton in Birmingham
Business and financial adviser Grant Thornton’s Birmingham office has boosted its corporate tax team with the appointment of Michelle Perry as head of employment taxes.
With 25 years’ accounting and tax experience, Perry is a Chartered Tax Adviser who has specialised in employment taxes for 15 years, including seven at a Big 4 firm in the city.
In addition to leading and growing Grant Thornton’s employment taxes team in the West Midlands, her new role will include advising companies on issues including compliance with HMRC regulations and enquiries, efficient remuneration and rewards packages and assisting clients with the increasingly complicated rules for the taxation of employees.
EY welcomes five new Partners in the Midlands
EY has appointed four new equity Partners and one Associate Partner in its Midlands practice, bolstering its leadership team as it continues to expand across the region.
Paul Dennis and Mike Grayton have both been appointed Partners in the firm’s Tax practice, based in Birmingham.
Piers Clinton-Tarestad and Dee Vaghela have been appointed Partner and Associate Partner respectively, in the firm’s Advisory practice in Birmingham.
Dan Hurd has been appointed Partner in the firm’s Transaction Advisory Services practice and leads EY’s restructuring team in the Midlands.
Williams Commerce appoints new operations director

Former Lookers boss, Steve Dean, was introduced to the Director of the company, Aidan Rooney, after joining one of Vistage’s Midlands based groups run by leading Chair, Chris Everard. She will also be based in Cheltenham.
