A CGI of the St James development in Dover
A further four companies have agreed lettings at the new St James retail and leisure development in Dover, taking the scheme to 80% pre-let ahead of its opening in March 2018.
Deals have been agreed with Shoe Zone, Card Factory, Carphone Warehouse and Greggs, with another two units under offer.
Shoe Zone has taken a 5,000 sq ft unit at £115,000 a year, Card Factory and Carphone Warehouse will each pay £45,000 a year for units of 1,500 sq ft, while Greggs has signed for a 1,200 sq ft store at £36,000 a year. All leases are for a term of 10 years.
Construction work is now well under way on the 156,915 sq ft scheme which is anchored by Marks & Spencer and Next. It also features a 108-bed Travelodge, a six-screen Cineworld multiplex, 445 parking spaces and six restaurants.
Acquired by Legal & General last May, St James is being developed by Bond City in partnership with Dover District Council.
Tim Hance of HRH, which is joint letting agent with JLL, said: “Momentum has picked up at St James, with construction work cracking ahead and a definitive scheme opening date of March 2018.
“The latest flurry of lettings takes us to 80% pre-let and, given the advanced discussions on further units, we are fast running out of available space.”
