Aileen Gilani, the founder of luxury concierge service for students, Luxury Student Private Members Club, reflects on her new start-up.
What does your business do?
The Luxury Student Private Members Club is concierge service platform for students who enjoy the luxury lifestyle. This membership offers luxury treats and access to the most exclusive private members club in London.
How has 2017 been for you?
Stressful and equally so exciting! We launched in September and have already received so much support from luxury brands and students.
What was your greatest success?
Being one of the only startup businesses to partner with Nespresso. They were one of the first brands that we partnered with which was such a surprise because we didn't think it would happen. But we were both in sync in many aspects of both brands working together and having their support from the beginning has been fantastic. And all the brands and venues that have partnered with us recently - I believe it's a great sign when we have received such a great support in this luxury industry and community.
And your greatest challenge?
Trying to balance the old school tradition of luxury with the modern luxury students. We always have to go back to the drawing board to rethink of how to make it as appealing to these luxury students with so many new luxury brands coming into the game. We want to invite new luxury brands, venues, experiences to our Members.
What do you think 2018 will hold for you?
More and more partnerships and more events to celebrate the success. Just a year of fun and celebration with our current members and future members. The team will certainly grow as we know our number of Members will grow too. We will take it one step at a time.
How will you spend Christmas and the New Year?
A couple trips to our partner Private Members Clubs for their Christmas Meals. But overall a time to shut down and mentally prepare myself for 2018. I will be catching up on sleep!
