Specialist insurance broker Quote Detective has announced expansion plans in line with new business signings, creating 22 new positions in the firm.
Pontypool-based Quote Detective recently posted revenues of £1.8m on a gross written premium (GWP) of £12m.
This is a huge jump from this time last year when the firm posted revenues of £500,000 on a GWP of £3m.
In this time, staff levels have grown steadily from an initial 13 to 45, with jobs now set for another boost on the back of new business wins.
The firm will take on ten more staff this month and a further 12 in May.
Quote Detective pricing director Gareth Evans said: “We have new insurance agencies including Equity and Markerstudy which further extends our footprint enabling us to quote to even more people.
“Both companies are highly respected, established insurance providers with excellent FCA ratings which provides our customers with peace of mind and a quality product.
“What this all means in practice for Quote Detective is more sales, higher turnover and an immediate need for more staff.
“We will be taking on a further ten staff in April and another dozen in May to support this growth.
“We have been on Compare The Market and Confused.com for several months and will be adding MoneySupermarket car in May/June. We anticipate that this will boost our sales by 25-30%
“With van we will be going live on Moneysupermarket in May and Confused van later in the Summer. By the end of the summer we aim to be selling £600,000+ of van policies on a monthly basis’
The phone-based insurance firm is currently recruiting at all levels as it continues to negotiate terms with new insurers and improved terms with existing insurers.
Quote Detective outgrew its premises at Cwmbran’s Springboard Innovation Centre and is now established in 4,000 sq ft of space at Johnsey Estates owned Mamhilad Park Estate has an eye on securing more onsite office space as it expands.
Gareth added: “Insurers see our performance over the last two years and our conversion of traditionally difficult business and consider us to be worthy partners.
“The process of signing new partners can take time as we are all authorised by FCA and checks need to be undertaken but we have a good team.”
