For couples who fancy a more exotic, safari themed wedding day, it doesn’t take flying all the way to Africa. Yorkshire Wildlife Park offers couples the opportunity to say ‘I do’ in the midst of some of the world’s rarest and most beautiful animals.
Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster, near Branton, offers a unique package with the nearby Crown Hotel in Bawtry, where wedding guests can enjoy a reception at the elegant hotel and round up their experience of an extraordinary wedding day.
Special guests will include the park’s Lions, Amur Leopards and Tigers, Polar Bears, Painted Hunting Dogs, Lemurs and many more.
“We hosted a record-breaking seven weddings last year and we’re so delighted that we already have some planned at our memorable venue this year. The animals make a fantastic backdrop to a special day.”
Hayden and Emily Armstrong were one of the seven couples who tied the knot at the park in 2018, Emily said: “Hayden and I always knew we wanted a wedding which stood out from the crowd.
“My maid of honour sent through an article including zoo weddings and we instantly fell in love with the idea. YWP were able to turn our dreams into a reality and nothing was too much for them.
“From decorating the beautiful wedding room, to ensuring the audio and visual for the ceremony was perfect, to organising a lemur and giraffe feed for after we tied the knot - everything was taken care of.
“If you are thinking of booking YWP for your big day, just do it - you won’t be disappointed and you will be guaranteed the most wonderful day which you and all your guests will cherish forever!”
The exotic weddings can be remembered in form of unusual photographs and wedding albums that show the bride and groom in the fascinating surroundings of Project Polar or other reserves.
Getting married at the park has become popular since YWP was granted their licence in 2014.
Matt Zaremba, corporate sales executive at YWP, said: “We have an extremely busy schedule all year round at the park so we recommend that couples book their weddings as early as possible to avoid disappointment
“We will be attending the Doncaster I Do Wedding Exhibition on March 17 this year which will be a great opportunity for engaged couples to find out more about the amazing services YWP can offer for their special day.”
The park, which opened in 2009, allows visitors to get up close to some of the world’s most endangered and beautiful animals, including Amur Leopards and Tigers, African lions, and the country’s only Polar Bears, in a breathtaking walkthrough adventure.
