Photography start-up opens second studio

Huddersfield-based start-up Chique Photography has opened a second photography studio after a solid first year in business.

Chique Photography was launched in October 2014 offering photoshoot and makeover experiences to its customers across Yorkshire.

After a successful first year trading, they successfully launched a new modern and stylish studio in Wakefield in November.

Co-founder Jane Earnshaw got in touch with Business Enterprise Fund to help begin her business venture with a Start Up Loan.

The opening day for the new studio was a big success with a big list of bookings. “It was almost too busy!” said Earnshaw. “We’re off to a great start.”

She added: “We found BEF online and were put in touch with Julie Micklethwaite. She was absolutely brilliant and gave us the help and advice we needed.”

In total, Chique has 12 self-employed makeup staff and 8 photographers and is looking to recruit more to cater for the growing demand.

“It’s really important that everyone is well trained. Our photographers have to put up with very quick turnarounds and our makeup staff are professionally trained.

“We want to be the best and create a truly special experience for our clients.”
