hcm to build on strong start to the year

Wakefield-based Harris Construction Management is benefiting from the UK’s booming construction industry after landing almost £20m worth of new contracts since the start of the year.

hcm Projects, which is part of Harris Construction Management, will shortly start work on four major projects located throughout the UK following the wins.

The company employs a team of over 50 and operates predominantly in the private sector delivering industrial, commercial, residential and retail schemes.

hcm has delivered consecutive year-on-year growth since its formation seven years ago and saw turnover grow to £43m in 2015.

Danny Mulqueen, managing director at hcm Projects, said: “We enjoyed record turnover in 2015 and these contract wins are the best way of ensuring this growth trend continues in 2016.

“We’re also delighted to be winning such a diverse range of work, which is testimony to our versatility and competitive pricing policy.

“These project wins give us a strong pipeline of work and we are now in the process of submitting tenders for a number of other exciting projects, with both new and existing clients, which will help to drive our expansion throughout the rest of the year.”

The contracts will see hcm carry out:

  • A £10m upgrade to Britvic Soft Drinks’ production and warehouse facility in Beckton, East London.
  • The extending and remodelling of Primark’s Grimsby store in Freshney Place Shopping Centre, as part of a £4m contract.
  • A £2m contract to extend an existing B&M store at Belper in Derbyshire.
  • A £1m two storey extension at Sandal MINI on Dewsbury Road in Wakefield.
