Very Cheap Holidays set for takeoff

Newcastle-based travel firm Very Cheap Holidays is set to expand as it aims to capitalise upon a period of impressive growth and double its workforce.

On the back of its most successful trading year to date, the holiday company has announced plans to create 16 new positions as it looks to meet increasing demand from customers and grow its online business by 30% this year.

As part of its ambitious growth strategy, the firm will also be relocating from its current base in Ouseburn to a new 2,500 sq ft head office premises at the Silverlink in July, which will provide much-needed capacity for further expansion and additional staff numbers.

Very Cheap Holidays was established in 2010 and specialises in competitively priced package holiday deals to popular destinations including mainland Spain, the Balearics, Greece, Turkey and the Algarve.

Martin Jones, director said: “In recent years there has been a surge in demand from savvy consumers who want to secure high quality holidays at competitive prices.

“The business has grown extensively within a relatively short period of time and we are now looking at creating several new positions which will significantly increase our team and enable us to push forward with our plans over the coming year.

“The move to new premises in the summer will give us the space we need to accommodate our increasing staff numbers and the location offers the infrastructure - great transport links, parking options, retail and leisure facilities – to support our ongoing recruitment and retention plans.”
