Residential specialist Torsion was established early in 2015 in West Yorkshire and has grown quickly, with a total of nine schemes secured in its first year, and turnover on target to hit £26m in its second year.
Torsion is owes its recent growth to a strong pipeline of accommodation schemes, including one in Newcastle.
Torsion managing director Dan Spencer says the student accommodation sector continues to be one of the strongest property markets nationwide, with the North East region particularly busy thanks to the strong university performance and demand for purpose built accommodation.
He said: “We have seen exceptional demand for our design to budget service, whereby we work in collaboration with clients to ensure schemes are deliverable at a pre-construction stage.
“This has generated an exceptionally strong secured workbook for 2017 and 2018.
“It’s important for us to have a permanent presence in the North East to ensure we continue to employ the best local talent in the industry to maintain our outstanding service. It also allows us to develop long term relationships with local sub-contractors ensuring further employment in the local economy and certainty in delivery of our schemes.
“This is our third regional office, opened less than two years since the business started and our secured forward order book ensures our continued growth in line with our five year business plan.”
