The firm is creating a dedicated building, which will feature specialist equipment for Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), at its manufacturing facility in Kelso.
The move will also see Plexus creating new jobs at the facility for dedicated ESS engineering professionals.
The facility, which is due to open in September, is being created to meet the specialised needs of ESS with a focus on meeting thermal, vibration and industry specific requirements.
Frank Zycinski, a senior executive for Plexus, said: “With today’s need for increased security in these sensitive sectors, we have taken the decision to bring ESS testing within our own control.
“This move means we can deliver a full service to our customers and guarantee enhanced security for their intellectual property.”
