Meltham hotel sold in seven-figure deal

The Durker Roods Hotel in Meltham near Huddersfield has been sold in a seven-figure deal to Harimoor Hospitality Ltd.

Durker Roods is a thoroughly refurbished classical hotel with 29 rooms, it also caters for weddings and events with a large banqueting suite, David Brown inspired lounge bar and meeting rooms.

The property was converted into a hotel in the mid 1970’s and had been the former residence of business entrepreneur Sir David Brown of Aston Martin Cars fame.

Jay Patel, director at Harimoor Hospitality said: “We are delighted to complete the acquisition of Durker Roods Hotel.

“This is a well known and attractive hotel set in an appealing village location with close links to the M62 and Huddersfield.

“This is an excellent addition to our hotel portfolio alongside The Welcome Inn in Rotherham and we will retain current staff to ensure the smooth running of the hotel.”

Funding to support the purchase has been provided by the Royal Bank of Scotland.
