After selling 3,000 puddings in just two months during Christmas 2015, Alison Lilly, the entrepreneur behind LillyPuds, is aiming to create 15,000 of her traditional and gluten free Christmas puddings for the coming festive season.
Using her own homemade recipe that she has developed over the years, Alison started selling her Christmas puddings to the public last Christmas and was amazed at the response.
Now, with a 1-star Gold Great Taste Award under her belt, orders are already flooding in from shops and restaurants for Christmas 2016 and she is expecting to serve over 40,000 portions this year.
“When I launched Lillypuds last October I never expected to receive such an amazing response to my puddings. I started selling them at Christmas fairs, then the orders came in from shops and restaurants,” explains Alison.
“The start of this year has all revolved around creating and perfecting my branding and website and now I'm looking to plough my efforts into marketing and selling my puddings.
“The orders for this year are already stacking up and I'm expecting to sell around 15,000 puddings to restaurants, pubs and shops across East Anglia and beyond.”
LillyPuds are a lighter version of the traditional Christmas pudding. Packed with juicy fruit, spices and laced with brandy they contain only a minimal amount of added sugar and nothing artificial. There's even a gluten free version.
“It's going to be a very busy few months in the run up to Christmas, but I'm up for the challenge,” added Alison.
“These puddings are very close to my heart and it's amazing that so many people will be enjoying them during the most important meal of the year.”
