Apprentice winner sees business boom

Former Apprentice winner Ricky Martin is seeing his specialist recruitment business he founded alongside Lord Sugar scale new heights.

Ricky Martin, winner of The Apprentice 2012, is set to expand his specialist recruitment business he launched alongside Lord Sugar.

Hyper Recruitment Solutions (HRS) launched in 2012 following a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar and has focused on specialist recruitment in the science industry over the past four years.

With more than £6m generated by the company, who are on target to achieve a £10m milestone in the next year, HRS now employs 25 permanent staff and is looking to expand and open new offices in the coming months as the business continues to grow.

Amongst the Hyper Recruitment Solutions team are two full time apprentices, who Ricky has taken on board following his own positive experience on the hit TV show.

The apprentices are on a national apprenticeship scheme between HRS and Waltham Forest College providing various qualifications including the Level 2 and Level 3 NVQ’s in Recruitment Practice.

Ricky said: “The past four years have been an incredible experience and HRS has gone from strength to strength; so much so that our office is now bursting at the seams and we are looking to expand to major UK cities in the near future.

“I cannot believe that in such a short period of time we have achieved what we have; and most importantly changed the lives and careers of 1000s of individuals."

He added: "We have built up a reputation as leaders in the science and technology recruitment sectors, with the industries' leading companies coming to us to fulfil their employment needs.

“Our plan now is to continue to grow, expanding in to other divisions and sectors in the new year.

“Having Lord Sugar as my business partner has been invaluable and I am excited to see what the next four years and beyond brings for the company.”
