Demand for office property in Aberdeen reached a record high in 2011, according to an annual report from global property consultant Knight Frank. The firm’s Aberdeen office market activity review for 2011 revealed that annual office take-up was amongst the highest in the UK at 773,175 sq ft, doubling the city’s figures for 2010 and surpassing Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The report also shows that during 2011, Aberdeen commanded the highest prime headline office rent out of the UK’s 11 key regional markets outside the South East. A new record headline rent of £31.50 per sq ft was set following McGrigors’ lease of Queens House and this is expected to rise further in 2012.
