Active4all, a social enterprise providing employment opportunities for people from disadvantaged communities in North Lanarkshire, has acquired a new location to cater for its expanding workforce and has plans to take on a further 12 new people.
The new 45,000 sq ft warehouse and 55,000 sq ft yard, located at Mossbell Road, Bellshill, will now enable the business to develop a new learning centre offering courses in warehousing, manufacturing and construction industry skills.
The company aims to improve employment prospects for individuals who are disengaged and marginalised within communities by running supported workplace opportunities, and has provided over 85 placements in the last year.
Ian Strachan, executive chairman, Active4all, says: “The new site is a huge improvement and comes at just the right time.
“We were starting to outgrow our old base so it’s great to be in a position where we can open our doors to more people.”
The move was supported by funding from Bank of Scotland and a £300,000 investment package from Resilient Scotland.
Alasdair Swan, relationship director, Bank of Scotland, added: “It’s great to see Active4All going from strength to strength and moving into much needed new premises.
“The team is dedicated to offering employment opportunities to more people in the local community and the Mossbell Road site will surely enable them to achieve this goal.”
