Glasgow’s first indoor street food hub has launched, transforming the top floor of the Buchanan Galleries in the city.
Taste of Buchanan, which opened its doors last Friday, offers an ever-changing line up of Scottish food producers seven days a week.
The food hub a partnership between Land Securities-owned Buchanan Galleries and street trading platform StreetDots, which has similar ventures in London.
Founder of StreetDots, Atholl Milton, said: “The timing is right for bringing this to Glasgow. There’s such an appetite in the city for interesting food, with great ingredients at a decent price. We’ve got some of Scotland’s most exciting traders coming together to offer up something a bit different and there’s always going to be something new for people to try.
“Taste Buchanan is also giving the traders the chance to experiment and really play with ideas without the pressure of having to take on a restaurant. We’ve got chefs starting up whole new brands for the launch and we’re really proud to be able to give that opportunity.”
The first eight traders featuring include:
The Buffalo Farm, from Fife., offering a range of hot, meat dishes including dishes including their specialty water buffalo burgers
Glasgow-based food company Chompsky serving up fresh, steamed bao buns.
Designer Cakes by Paige, a Glasgow based family run business, offering cupcakes, cake pops and decadent truffles.
Family-run ice cream store Equi’s, offering a range of ice cream creations.
Nomad Pizza delivering a variety of handmade sourdough pizzas.
