Record performance for TenTel

Scottish company TenTel is dialling up its presence in the UK telecoms market with record growth figures.

The Midlothian-based business is consistently signing up more than 100 customers a day – a target originally earmarked for 2017 – and enjoyed its most successful ever month with 2,000 orders placed in October.

TenTel, which provides short-term flexible broadband, phone and TV packages to more than 10,000 UK customers, expects further grown as it enters the new year.

Robert McKechnie, managing director, said: "The last twelve months have seen fantastic growth for TenTel and our record figures are testament to this.

"We have established ourselves as one of the fastest-growing independent internet service providers in the UK, with more than 10% revenue growth month-on-month.

"We are seeing growing demand for short-term broadband options as well as telephone contracts that don’t tie you in to lengthy contracts or incur big connection charges. As well as appealing to the general consumer, letting agents also now account for an increasing portion of our customer base."

The company acquired utility management company Hallmark in March this year and now provides an all-inclusive hub for the lettings industry.

Last month, the rapidly expanding business celebrated one year at its office in Shawfair on the edge of Edinburgh.

Starting out with a core team of 30 sales, technical and administrative staff it now employs more than 80 people, and expects to employ an additional ten staff by Christmas.

Its management team has set a further target of signing-up an extra 20,000 customers by July 2017.
