STV Group has announced that Simon Pitts will join the Board as chief executive officer at the beginning of next year.
This appointment is made following the April 2017 announcement of Rob Woodward’s intention to step down from the board and his role as CEO within a period of 12 months.
Simon Pitts will join from ITV plc where he is a member of the executive board holding the position of managing director, online, pay tv, interactive & technology.
Over a 17-year career at ITV plc, Simon held a variety of senior roles, was one of the main architects of the company's recent transformation, and oversaw strong growth in ITV's digital businesses. Additionally, Simon is currently vice chair of the trustees of the Royal Television Society.
