Frame launches media planning and buying arm

Glasgow-based marketing services business, Frame Group, has announced it is to launch a media planning and buying arm after securing one of the industry’s most prominent figures to head it up.

Charlie Crawford has left his position as a director of Mediacom Edinburgh to join as founding director of the new business, which will see Frame open its first office in Edinburgh. 

Gary O’Donnell, managing director of Frame Group, said: “We’ve long held an ambition to have media in the group. It’s the last piece of the jigsaw that enables us to offer a genuine one-stop-shop to our clients and makes us the only fully integrated agency in Scotland.

“As with the other parts of Frame Group, we anticipate that Frame Media will share clients in common with Frame, but equally it will pitch for and win stand-alone clients as well.

“Charlie is among the best and most respected media professionals in the country, and under his leadership we see enormous potential for this venture.”

Charlie Crawford said: “Leaving MediaCom after 16 years was not a decision I took lightly, but the opportunity to create a truly client-focussed, differentiated and independent media services offering with an outfit as forward-thinking and innovative as Frame was just too enticing to pass up.”

The creation of Frame Media follows the successful launch of the agency’s award-winning PR business which itself now has over a dozen members of staff and includes Miller Homes, the Scottish FA, The R&A and UEFA among its clients.

Frame’s full-service offering now includes advertising, promotions, design, web design & build, digital marketing, PR and media buying, with the Group expected to exceed £5m in revenue this year.
