Building surveying and project management firm, PMP, is set to start work on two high-profile projects in the City of Edinburgh, as it fulfils its ambition to double turnover.
The firm has also made a senior hire, with Chris Hay joining the project management team as senior surveyor from JLL in London. The appointment comes as PMP fulfils its ambition to double its turnover in the next three years and continues to win work from milestone projects.
Scotland’s first vertical distillery, The Leith Distillery, which recently received planning permission, has appointed PMP to deliver project management advice. The project is currently progressing with technical design development to allow building warrant applications to be submitted.
PMP has also been appointed as project managers for the Apple Apartments boutique hotel forming part of the £120m New Waverley Project. The listed former Victorian primary school will be sensitively converted into a high specification 21-bedroom five-star aparthotel which has been designed by Edinburgh-based Staran Architects.
Joseph Dunn, director and head of project management for PMP, said: “We are delighted to be bringing Chris Hay to the Edinburgh project management team where he will be helping to drive PMP’s growth plans in the commercial development and fit out market.
“We also have two major projects going live. The Leith Distillery and the New Waverley Project are among the most exciting commercial developments currently underway in the City of Edinburgh. The delivery of these two projects signifies a strong and consistent interest in commercial development and that Edinburgh maintains its position as one of the most desirable locations for investment in Europe.”
To add further weight to its growth plan, PMP has this month taken occupation of its first London-based office occupying a shared office suite within Scotland House to take advantage of business opportunities coming out of the City.
Stewart Rutherford, Director, PMP, said: “Our first London office will give us an opportunity to spend more quality time developing business that comes out of the City. We fully intend to continue to build our business nationwide thanks to a strong and highly regarded team of experienced surveyors and project managers working at the forefront of new commercial development. There are a number of opportunities ahead with a strong pipeline of business as we diversify our offering to clients.”
