Hilary Roberts, founder and CEO of HRC Recruitment
Scottish independent recruitment consultancy, HRC Recruitment, has expanded its operations across the central belt by taking new office space, recruiting staff, and adding to its sector specialisms.
Joe McShane, the founder and director of Edinburgh-based Application Recruitment, has re-joined HRC Recruitment to lead its professional services divisions in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Joe has provided consultancy to the firm in recent years and was previously its operations director between 2006 and 2008.
Two of Joe’s Application Recruitment colleagues have also made the move to HRC. The addition of Kirsty McFarlane, recruitment manager, and Hollie McKnight, consultant, has helped take headcount in Edinburgh to six, less than a year after the office was opened.
Meanwhile, the HRC Recruitment team in the capital has re-located to Application Recruitment’s office on Atholl Place, moving from its previous premises on Rutland Square.
HRC Recruitment’s overall headcount has increased to 60, from 45 this time last year.
The consultancy recently moved to a larger office in Glasgow, taking 5,160 sq. ft. at 180 St Vincent Street. The firm will also begin offering services to the procurement, supply and logistics markets from its new Glasgow base, led by consultant Chris Milne.
Hilary Roberts, founder and CEO of HRC Recruitment, said: “This is an exciting time for HRC Recruitment as we ramp up our plans for growth across the country. Our Edinburgh operation has gone from strength to strength since it opened last year, and this latest move gives us even more room for expansion in the city.”
Joe McShane added: “I learned a lot from setting up my own company; but, having recently provided consultancy for HRC, I realised we were better working together – I enjoyed my first stint at the company and look forward to what lies ahead. HRC Recruitment has historically been very strong on the west coast and there’s a big opportunity to grow in Edinburgh. Demand for professional services staff is robust across the board and, in a candidate-short market, we’re working with our clients to identify the best available talent.”
Application Recruitment will continue to trade under the leadership of Tracey Exton.
