Content and editorial guidelines

General content submissions

We welcome the submission of general content for Please send your news stories and press releases to our central inbox; this means that as different members of the BQ team work on stories, they will definitely see yours!

Our standards and guidelines

  • We follow the Editors' Code of Practice, operated by the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO), which we consider a sound ethical guide for the publication of information.
  • Our audience is business, not consumer.
  • We aim to celebrate and inspire entrepreneurship, helping businesses to succeed and grow. We want BQlive to be the place you can't afford to miss.
  • As a commercial organisation, we charge a very fair rate for advertisements and advertorial content, including promotional links and guaranteed content placement (subject to it meeting our editorial and quality criteria, of course). We don't publish any of these things for free.
  • All content tagged 'Profile' or 'Special Feature' is paid-for advertising, both in print and online.

Have you used/received my press release?

If we've used your release, then it'll be right here on the website! Each member of our editorial team receives well over 100 press releases per day to review. Inevitably, we can't use them all and we can't provide feedback individually. We have no problem with you re-sending unused releases through again.

Can I call you to tell you I'm about to email you a press release?

It would help us greatly if you didn't. We value speaking to everyone that we can, but time spent on these activities is less time we can spend actually putting your valuable content online. Your co-operation with this is greatly appreciated.

Forward features

We do a series of regular features and we welcome submissions for those; you can find them all here.

Can you provide comment in these areas, quickly? Email to be included.
