Will Craig (co-founder and managing director of Lease Fetcher)
The innovative comparison company Lease Fetcher has secured enough funding to finish development and release by 2018.
The Scottish leasing comparison start-up will allow users to compare over 50 million leasing deals.
Lease Fetcher has announced that it has closed a seed funding round led by its parent company Digital Impact.
Scotland’s main economic development agency, Scottish Enterprise, will invest up to £100,000 into the new start-up, with Digital Impact making up the remainder.
Scottish Enterprise is Scotland's main economic development agency and a non-departmental public body of the Scottish Government.
It works with partners in the public and private sectors to identify and exploit the best opportunities to deliver a significant, lasting effect on the Scottish economy.
The injection of capital will allow the team to accelerate development of Lease Fetcher’s comparison engine and digital systems, and help launch the service in the UK.
Founder and CEO Will Craig said: “In the UK, you can compare hundreds of electricity and gas packages, thousands of broadband deals and millions of phone contracts.
“The fact you can’t compare leasing deals is utterly mind boggling. With Lease Fetcher, we set out to change that.
“Moving forward, we’re tremendously excited to be working with Scottish Enterprise and plan to grow Lease Fetcher into a global market leader.”
Founded in 2017 in Glasgow, Lease Fetcher automatically collects tens of millions of prices from hundreds of leasing brokers and allows users to search, filter and compare prices to find the offer that’s best for them.
The start-up plans to officially launch Lease Fetcher to the public in late-2017.
