Deliveroo, the on-demand food delivery service, is set to expand further in Wales with the launch of two new cities, Bangor and Aberystwyth, next month.
The delivery service will soon be available in five Welsh cities following its success in Cardiff, Newport and Swansea, making Wales one of Deliveroo’s biggest markets.
Deliveroo has created over 200 jobs since its Welsh launch in 2015, with the majority of these being riders that aim to deliver food to doors within 30 minutes.
The company works with some of the best restaurants in Wales including Giovanni’s, Peppermint, Five Guys, Magic Wrap and The Grazing Shed.
Caroline Hazlehurst, general manager of Deliveroo, said: “We launched in Cardiff, our first Welsh city, in 2015, and since then we have expanded to Newport and Swansea with a selection of great local restaurant partners.
“Ahead of our launch in Bangor and Aberystwyth next month, the team is looking for people with passion, drive and great customer service, who are seeking the added benefit of flexible hours amongst other perks. We would encourage anyone looking for a fast paced and exciting atmosphere to apply through our website.”
Edward Jones, director at Magic Wrap, said: “'Magic Wrap has been using Deliveroo for the past 18 months. It has been an easy and efficient way to get our product delivered to our customers from our three sites in Cardiff.
“Deliveroo opened up the delivery market to Magic Wrap which was difficult for us to achieve before, and we are confident that our delicious food gets to our customers in the great condition that it is made in store. This is reflected in our ever-growing business with the food delivery service.”
Natalie Beer, restaurant manager at The Bucket List, Peppermint & Brewstone, added: “The Bucket List is our newest restaurant to hit the popular Wind Street, and it immediately took off when we partnered with Deliveroo.”
More than 120 restaurants across Wales have already signed up to the service since launch, with 60% being independent restaurants, creating new revenue streams for homegrown culinary talent. In 2016 Deliveroo created £200m in additional revenue for the restaurant industry in the UK.
Deliveroo will create further work for riders in the local areas of Bangor and Aberystwyth. The ever-growing UK Deliveroo team is looking for riding enthusiasts in Wales who enjoy cycling as a hobby or individuals who are looking for a way to keep fit, while making some extra money.
