Andy Lewis of Brooks Macdonald
A former Welsh rugby player who was capped 29 times by his country is set to head up Brooks Macdonald’s expansion into Wales.
Leading investment management company Brooks Macdonald has opened its first office in Wales.
The new office is located in Cardiff and will be the group’s thirteenth office across the UK and the Channel Islands.
Former rugby player Andrew Lewis has been appointed to lead the new office and the firm intends to announce additional investment management hires for the office shortly.
Lewis has extensive experience as an investment manager and of the local market in Wales, and specifically working with professional advisers and intermediaries.
He was previously Cardiff divisional director at Brewin Dolphin, where he worked for 13 years following a successful career as a rugby player, which included 29 caps for Wales.
The new office will further expand the group’s geographical footprint, providing exposure to a new region with an established advisory network where the brand is not widely known.
Andy Lewis, who will head up the new Cardiff office, said: “I am delighted to join Brooks Macdonald at this exciting time.
“Having previously led a team that dealt solely with the adviser market, I believe Brooks Macdonald has a great opportunity to build a strong presence in Wales.
“Its proven and ongoing support for financial advisers, underpinned by its high-quality investment management, provides an ideal foundation to launch its service offering.”
Nick Holmes, managing director of Brooks Macdonald added: “The Wales office opening will mark another significant milestone in the growth of our footprint across the UK as we continue to widen our reach to an expanding client base and strengthen the service we provide to clients and professional advisers in the area.”
Brooks Macdonald has thirteen offices across the UK and the Channel Islands including London, Edinburgh, Guernsey, Hale, Hampshire, Jersey, Leamington Spa, Manchester, Taunton, Tunbridge Wells, York and Wales.
