Quantum Advisory shrugs off Brexit uncertainty to continue growing

The independent financial services consultancy posted a 14% rise in turnover last year and is anticipating further growth for the year ahead.

Quantum Advisory is an independent financial services consultancy which provides pension and employee benefits services to employers, members and scheme trustees.

Established in 2000, the firm has five offices across the UK employing over 100 people and recently relocated to a new head office in Cardiff.

Having seen turnover for 2016/2017 rise by 14% to £6.5m, the company is now expecting a similar increase for the 2017/2018 financial year, with turnover expected to topple £7m.

Partner and actuary at Quantum Advisory, Stuart Price, said: “The increase was from growing the income on our existing client base with the introduction of new products and also a number of significant new client wins.

“We have recently recruited our 100th member of staff and have also relocated to new premises in Cardiff to accommodate the growing team with plenty of room for future expansion. We also have regional offices in Amersham, Birmingham, Bristol and London.”

Currently, Quantum only offers its services to corporates, however, given the recent flexibilities afforded to UK pensions there is now even more of a requirement for clear and concise pensions advice for individuals and Quantum is looking to capitalise on the opportunity.

Price added: “Politicians, the Financial Conduct Authority and the Pensions Regulator are concerned that in many cases the pensions advice given to individuals is not of the required standard which was recently compounded further by the stories of poor pension advice given to British Steel Pension members.

“Later this year we are planning to expand our services, so we can help individuals with their retirement planning; from the moment they join a pension scheme to when they retire and well into retirement.

“With our expertise in the UK pension market and the skills we have in understanding our clients’ needs and then communicating with them in a manner they can understand, we know we can make a huge difference when it comes to providing individual pension advice.

“We are on a mission to bring a quality pension advice service to individuals that is trusted and respected and can be used by everyone. It will be a challenge, but it is something that we are confident that can be achieved, and in our eyes is a necessity for the UK pension industry.”
