Economy Energy to create 200 jobs in Coventry

Economy Energy has announced plans to create 200 jobs over the next 12 months after relocating to its new Coventry city centre headquarters.

Economy Energy recently moved into its new headquarters at Friars House on Manor House Drive, taking up the entire 10th floor.

The company, which was previously based at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, has created a number of new jobs on the back of the move and is planning to take on a further 200 throughout the year.

Angela Beardsmore, Economy Energy’s chief operating officer, said: “This year we will treble our customer base, create over 200 new employment opportunities and achieve a three-fold increase in revenues from £57m to over £150m.

“Our new city centre location is an important part of our long-term plan. It gives us the space we need to grow and means we will be able to continue to attract the brightest and best new talent from Coventry and beyond.”

Guests were invited to a canapés and drinks reception at the new headquarters, which was officially opened by Cllr Ann Lucas, leader of Coventry City Council, and Cllr Kevin Maton, Cabinet Member for Business, Enterprise and Employment.

Leader of Coventry City Council, Cllr Ann Lucas, added: “I was delighted to be invited to open Economy Energy’s new headquarters here in Coventry.

“This company is growing rapidly and I’m sure, over time, it will employ even more local people.

“I wish them every success for their new city centre base here in Coventry.”
