The company works with businesses across the UK to manage their utility contracts and reduce their consumption.
10 staff have been recruited following the move and the company plans to double this number over the next year.
Managing director Matt Jakeman said the new Birmingham office reflects how quickly the company has grown since it was founded in 2009.
“Utility Team works with thousands of businesses across the UK who want to get the best value from their energy contracts, reduce their consumption and minimise their carbon footprint,” he said.
“This new office will service one of the fastest growing areas of our business which is working with small and medium sized companies.
“Our products allow these companies to join together in buying consortiums to access the wholesale market and make significant savings.
“In the past - because of their size - they would only have been offered fixed term contracts but we can open up a number of other options.
“We expect this office to grow quickly as our experienced consultants help more companies save both money and time making utility decisions.”
A further 20 staff are employed at the company’s Coventry headquarters at Elliot Court.
