The Energy Systems Catapult, which is working to create a clean, intelligent energy system for the UK, is relocating to a new office in Cannon House, on Priory Queensway.
Jewellery Quarter-based Monteith Scott will work to create an interior design for the new location which focuses on encouraging and supporting collaborative working, in order to help the Catapult achieve its goal of bringing together industry, academia and Government to transform the energy sector.
Alison Monteith, managing director of Monteith Scott, said: “This is a very exciting project for us to be involved in and we can’t wait to get started.
“The Catapult is an organisation that has innovation and creativity at its core, so we’re looking forward to exploring further how our design and fit-out of the new offices can support the Catapult and the energy sector in developing new products and services.”
Currently based at Birmingham Business Park, near Birmingham International Airport, the Catapult’s move is anticipated to encourage further growth within the business.
The Catapult has been set up in response to growing awareness of the need to take a whole system approach to the challenge of transforming the UK’s energy sector, both affordably and securely.
The Catapult is also helping the UK capture commercial opportunities and create new businesses across the energy sector.
Marc Stone, chief finance officer for the Catapult, said: “Monteith Scott has a proven track record of developing engaging office spaces and their vision for Cannon House clearly demonstrates their creative and forward-thinking approach.
“We’re looking forward to seeing the building develop in the coming weeks and months into a space for the Catapult and for the industry. The facilities at our new office will also help us to deliver our five-year delivery plan.”
Work on the new offices is expected to commence in June, and complete ahead of the Catapult team moving in during the autumn.
