Festive season boosts Driver Hire profits

Bradford-based Driver Hire has seen turnover soar following increasing demand for drivers during the run-up to Christmas.

During the week ended 13 December, its 104-office network’s combined weekly turnover soared to £2.35m.

Looking at the financial year to date, another outstanding overall trading performance sees the Driver Hire network 7.5% ahead of same period last year.

A total of 15 offices have already passed the £1m turnover mark with two – Aberdeen and Enfield – breaching the £2m turnover barrier.

Chris Chidley, Driver Hire’s chief executive officer, said: “The continued increase in online shopping is just one factor in our record-breaking run, as customers seek additional staff to meet the Christmas delivery deadline. But that’s only part of the story.

“Our reputation for quality and compliance continues to put us ahead of the rest, as transport operators and businesses of all types want to work with a recruitment partner they know they can rely on.”

Driver Hire provides temporary and permanent recruitment solutions for driving, warehouse and other logistics staff and professional and managerial staff to industry and the public sector in the UK and Ireland.
