Leeds LEP looks to support flood victims

The Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is in talks to try and provide further support to businesses affected by flooding.

The LEP is having discussions with central government, local councils and with neighbouring LEP’s to put in place an emergency fund to support those affected - particularly those in Leeds, Calderdale, Selby, Harrogate and York which have been hardest hit.

Roger Marsh OBE, chair of the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, told BQ: “We continue our discussions with central government and are working closely with local councils and neighbouring local enterprise partnerships to put in place emergency support for those businesses that have been affected by the recent flooding - particularly those areas which have been hardest hit.

“Some of our partner councils across the Leeds City Region have already set up a flood grants for businesses and further information can be found by visiting local council websites.

“Businesses affected by flooding and looking for advice on what support is available, can contact the LEP at 0113 3481818 or find out more by visiting www.the-lep.comfloodsupport.”
