New College Doncaster to create 40 jobs

Approximately 40 jobs could be created at New College Doncaster according to the company behind the scheme.

The college, which will be built in Auckley, on the playing fields adjacent to Hayfield Lane, will employ 28 teaching staff, nine support staff and catering and cleaning teams.

Leon Riley, principal designate of the college, said: “Plans are now well underway for New College Doncaster and we aim to be laying the first brick for the new building this summer.

“As well as working with current year 10 pupils and their families so that they are aware of what will be on offer at New College Doncaster, we are also working on our recruitment plans for the venue, which will open in September 2017.”

He added: “September 2017 might seem a long way away but believe me, it isn’t. We’ll be starting our recruitment drive later on this year and are very pleased to be creating 40 new posts in Doncaster.

“As the college grows there are plans to create more jobs with up to 100 posts being created by 2019.”

Parents of year 10 students who will be starting to make decisions about their sixth form education are encouraged to visit the New College Doncaster website and register their interest in being kept up to date about the 32 A-levels and vocational courses which will be on offer.
