Capitol Park hits major milestone

Barratt Homes’ arrival at Sterling Capitol’s Capitol Park West in south Leeds means a total of 1,600 jobs have now been created at the business park.

Barratt recently moved into Raynham House at Capitol Park, taking 12,700 sq ft on a five-year lease at £16.50 per sq ft.

The company has brought more than 80 staff to the site, taking the total number of employees on the park to over 1,600.

Mike Heydecke, director of Sterling Capitol, said: “Job creation has always been at the heart of our company’s plans at our three Yorkshire business parks in Leeds, Barnsley and Goole. Breaking the 1,600 jobs barrier at Capitol Park makes us very proud indeed.

“The diverse companies on site in Leeds site include Hermes, Henderson Insurance Brokers, dePuy, the NHS, AvailableCar, Ideal Heating and the Village Hotel. We are now delighted to welcome Barratt Homes.”

Capitol Park, the brainchild of renowned businessman and former Sunderland AFC owner Sir Bob Murray, is situated by Junction 28 of the M62.
