Networking group celebrates £1m in business

More than £1m worth of new business has passed between members of a Wakefield networking group, making it one of the most successful in West Yorkshire.

Wakefield Wealthbuilders, part of the global BNI network, is celebrating its most successful year since it was established in 2002.

The group currently brings representatives from 32 local businesses together to provide business referrals for each other.

Furthermore, the group has welcomed five new members within the last six weeks.

Julia Hayes, owner of JMH Copy Ltd, has been a member of the group for over 12 years and is one of its longest-standing members.

She said: “BNI isn’t like other networking groups, it is structured and works on the principle of finding quality referrals for others in the group while they do the same for you.

“Over 70 percent of my business is generated by my BNI membership.”

Group director, Anthony Bowyer, said: “Members are always looking out for opportunities to help others grow their business, and the latest sales figures are very much testament to that.

“Some of our members have been in the group for a very long time and get the majority of their business from BNI.”
