Harris Partnership expands into London

Wakefield-based architects The Harris Partnership has expanded into central London after opening a new office in the capital.

The new office in St Christopher’s Place W1 follows a period of continued growth during which the firm has grown 10 fold into a national practice employing 140 people, 70 of whom are based in Wakefield.

“We now have an established national presence and are the ‘go to architect’ for many national funds and retailers,” said group managing director Mike Schorah.

“The central London office provides us with a physical proximity to our national and international investor-developer clients, as well as signalling our ambitions as a nationally growing and recognised business.”

The company is currently engaged on four of the largest schemes in the Leeds City Region; namely the redevelopment of White Rose shopping centre and landmark office building, The Embankment, the former Yorkshire Post site and the Thorpe Park retail, leisure and commercial complex.

“We are particularly proud of our track record of bringing major investment schemes to the north that generate employment and economic prosperity,” Mike continues, “And our new London office will play an important role in growing that investment stream over coming years.”
