Richmond hotel revamped with £1m makeover

A Richmond hotel has had a new lease of life after undergoing a £1m refurbishment which has also made way for 30 additional new staff members.

The Kings Head, which dates back nearly 300 years, was acquired earlier this year by Lincolnshire-based Coaching Inn Group.

Follwoing an eight week closure which saw the renovation of its restaurant, bar and accomodation, the hotel is due to reopen this Friday, introducing its new eatery and coffeehouse concept featuring an all-day menu filled with locally sourced produce.

The renovation is part of the Coaching Inn Group’s £20m expansion programme.

Hotel manager, Fred Oxlade, said: “The aim of the work was to give this historic coaching inn a new lease of life, whilst maintaining its Georgian architecture. We’re delighted with the outcome and can’t wait to show off our fresh new look and introduce our new Eatery and Coffee House to the local community.

“The Kings Head benefits from being in a prime location on the town’s square and we hope we continue to be known as the go-to-place in Richmond for family-friendly, relaxed all day dining.”
