Celebrity boost for ilovegorgeous

Yorkshire-headquartered girls clothing brand ilovegorgeous has seen a boost in sales after Nancy and Florence Cameron, daughters of former prime minister David Cameron, were pictured leaving number 10 following their father’s resignation.

The children’s boutique, which has a store in Notting Hill, is well loved amongst celebrities, having already clothed the children of high profile figures including Helena Bonham Carter, Victoria Beckham, Gywenth Paltrow, Claudia Schiffer, Katie Holmes and Nicole Kidman.

However, the company, co-founded by friends Lucy Enfield and Sophie Worthington, recorded a noticeable spike in online traffic and sales as soon as the girls left number 10 on 13 July.

Helena Murphy of ilovegorgeous said: “The dresses were an instant hit and sold out both online and in our two London stores within a few hours. As a result we are also seeing an overall increase in sales especially from new customers.”

Nancy wore the Henry dress, which retails at £48.30 in the sale, down from £69.

Five-year-old Florence wore the pink Hemmingway dress, which retailed at £32.50, down from £65, and sold out in every size only days after her appearance.

The recent boost in attention follows news in April that the firm had smashed its Crowdcube campaign surpassed its £300,000 crowd funding target.

“Much as we have been delighted by the sales uplift and interest in ilovegorgeous since our dresses have been seen on the Camerons leaving no. 10 last week it has not altered our growth plans for 2017,” said Helena.

“We already have many ambitious plans in the pipeline with the rebrand to Wild & Gorgeous happening in September 2016 as we are launching our first boys wear range. We are also launching a newborn gifting range in January 2017.

“With regard to the dresses, we designed our SS17 collection a while ago but are happy to say that we are anyway offering both a Hemmingway and Henry style dress in what will be our new SS17 print.”
