The three-part short film series, hosted on YouTube, is designed to boost tourism within the region.
Viewers will follow Yorkie on his adventures embarking on a journey through some of York’s iconic history, as well as some of its newer destinations, whilst specially fitted in his own adventurer outfit complete with Visit York and Yorkshire Rose pin badges.
Each episode features new attractions where viewers can experience the sights and sounds that the location has to offer, including Walmgate Ale House, Jorvik on Tour, the National Rail Museum, York Minister, Shambles, Guy Fawkes Inn, Castle Howard, Goathland Station, North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Whitby Abbey, York Designer Outlet and local pub The Yorkshire Terrier.
The travelogue series has been launched in partnership with City of York Council, North Yorkshire County Council and Virgin Trains to celebrate Visit York’s ‘York - the Original City Adventure’ tourism campaign aimed at encouraging visitors to plan their very own adventures in York and North Yorkshire.
