Karro takes home two Food and Drink federation Awards

Karro Food Group, a supplier of British pork into the retail, trade and foodservice industries, has won two awards for business growth.

The Malton-headquartered business was named the winner in the Northern England Regional Business Growth category at the Food and Drink Federation Awards 2016.

Karro was also announced as the overall UK Business Growth winner, beating a host of leading industry winners from other regions to the title.

The awards, held at a dinner in London hosted by TV presenter and comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli, are food and drink industry awards recognising innovation, competitiveness and talent.

Di Walker, executive chair of Karro Food Group, said the award wins were a fitting recognition of the hard work of everybody across the business.

She said: "It is always pleasing to be recognised for your achievements in front of your peers and we’re delighted to have received these awards against some extremely tough competition.

"Karro Food Group is a success story having delivered significant growth following a period of transformation and revitalisation which has seen us build and maintain a strong customer base and develop our export business.

"Karro continues to make good progress and has a clear goal and vision, which has led to shared successes, such as these award wins, to be celebrated throughout our organisation by employees who are committed to our growth strategy.

"The business turnaround is not only evident in our financial figures but also in our enthusiastic, well-motivated team, and much of our success is down to our people’s hard work and dedication."
