MADE IT: Natalie Chappel of Zest for Media

Natalie Chappel set up Zest for Media, after spotting a gap in the market for digital marketing services for small businesses. She spoke to BQ about what inspired her and why she recommends MADE to other budding entrepreneurs.

Tell me a little bit about your company?

Zest for Media Marketing Ltd is a digital marketing company based in Sheffield that deliver Social Media Management, SEO, and Google Adwords services to small and medium businesses locally and nationally.

What is your role?

I am the managing director of Zest For Media.

What was the inspiration behind starting up?

Seeing a need in small businesses for digital marketing expertise, but lacking the budget to employ a full time member of staff, I recognised a solution I could offer. By handling all of a small business’s digital marketing needs I raise awareness of the business and free up their time to focus on what they do best - running their business.

Did you receive any support in setting up the business?

I received the support and advice of USE (University of Sheffield Enterprise) in so far as Hotdesking and regular monthly meet ups and advice.

How has MADE inspired you?

By listening to talks from entrepreneurs having pushed through problems, and meeting them on a very 'real' level, I am inspired to continue on my business journey, despite the setbacks and emotional resilience required.

What have you done in business since Made 2015?

I have taken on a Virtual PA to handle much of my daily tasks that were taking up time away from growing my business, and have expanded to offer services further afield from my base.

What are some of your biggest achievements since Made 2015?

Doubling my client base.

Why do you think other people should attend MADE?

To inspire them to carry on no matter what, and meet other likeminded people in the same boat as you are.

What were the benefits of attending MADE for you?

Motivation, networking, and goal-setting.

What are your plans for the future?

To continue to grow the business and deliver something fresh to the industry.
