Handbag Clinic, leeds
Handbag Clinic is celebrating a successful first year of trading in Leeds with more than £800,000 worth of designer handbags repaired, restored or re-coloured.
Customers have travelled from as far afield as Portsmouth, Scotland, Florida, Bulgaria and South Africa, bringing significant benefits to the city’s economy.
Handbag Clinic opened in Queen’s Arcade in June 2016 and offers all the usual Handbag Clinic services, including cleaning and restoring while also selling vintage bags from designers such as Chanel, Mulberry and Louis Vuitton.
Stand-out work includes an inside and outside colour change on a Chanel Classic double flap handbag. The bag was transformed from teal to the classic black and burgundy design for a delighted customer.
Another makeover saw a Celine Mini Luggage re-coloured from all over beige to the new season three-tone colour, giving the client the latest trend at a fraction of the cost.
Handbag Clinic also came to the rescue when a customer’s handbag was stolen and found by Police in nearby woods with mould inside and outside, berry stains and a small hole.
Despite the mouse that had chosen the abandoned bag for its home the experts at Handbag Clinic cleaned and restored the bag, even unstitching the lining to clean inside in case of any further ‘wildlife’; the customer was thrilled as she could use one of her favourite bags once again.
Ben Staerck, managing director of Handbag Clinic, said: “We are delighted with the success of our Leeds store and with the number of customers who have taken advantage of our repair and restoration service, or purchased a beautiful designer handbag.
“We have created jobs for local people and brought something new and exciting to the city’s retail offering and are looking forward to being a part of the Leeds business community for a long time.”
